About the Fund

Established in April 2019, the three-year fund is a £4.9m investment scheme providing funding to small and medium sized businesses in County Durham to accelerate their growth.

The fund overseen by Business Durham, the economic development arm of Durham County Council, is being delivered in partnership with UMi, which has a dedicated team of advisors ready to help with initial eligibility checks and funding applications. The funding has been secured from the England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.

The County Durham Growth Fund has been awarded an additional £4m of funding to continue supporting businesses across the county until June 2023.

Business Durham has the knowledge, experience and programmes to guide businesses of any shape, size and age.  We have accesses to funding, to premises and a large network of partners that can add to our offer. We will tailor our package of support to enable you to get the right guidance and practical help for your business to thrive in County Durham.
